Alessandro Roma continues his aesthetic research, pursuing a direction consistent with his previous practice while introducing a renewed poetic sensibility in the recent works exhibited at CAR Gallery. Where the artist once proposed aggressive and polymorphic sculptural forms, he now favours fluid and more sensual shapes. His visual language appears softer and more elusive, while the chromatic nuances dissolve delicately across the glazed ceramic surfaces with an ethereal and evanescent quality. The sculptures become poetic whispers, seemingly guiding us toward the colours of dawn and dusk, toward the forms of waves and quantum curves. These are no longer the blinding colours of the sun seen in earlier sculptures, which appeared to erupt from the earth and its underworld like ever-transforming magmatic expulsions; instead, they resemble light breezes resting upon immaculate glazes, shaped by aeolian forces. The artist’s hands become instruments directed by the force of thought, transferring the evanescence of concepts into heavy matter. The installation within the gallery unfolds as a unified environment that simultaneously fragments and harmonises the space, evoking the sense of a singular organism: a family inhabiting a dwelling, or a nucleus of objects accumulated by a passionate collector, in which each work maintains its own autonomy while remaining in constant dialogue with the others (...)
